Ryan Truex Last Minute Addition to New Hampshire Nationwide Race

Ryan Truex had certainly hoped to start the 2012 NASCAR Nationwide season with a full-time ride. The sting of that disappointment, however, was tempered by his first ever start at Daytona, and his six race deal with Joe Gibbs Racing. Yet, there was still a track, which holds special importance to Ryan, and the rest of the Truex family, missing from his schedule, New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

That all changed on Wednesday with the surprising announcement by Joe Gibbs Racing of a schedule change for the younger brother of NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Martin Truex Jr. Ryan would now be racing at New Hampshire this weekend in place of a scheduled start at Chicagoland Speedway in September. The surprise start comes with a variety of benefits for the New Jersey native.
