Don’t adjust your television, yes the track is actually green! At least the backstretch of Kansas Speedway will be, as part of an overall effort between NASCAR and it’s sponsors to celebrate Earth Day, which just happens to be on Sunday. Just the next challenge for Martin Truex Jr., and his NAPA Toyota team, as they try to continue their string of strong runs, dating back to late last season.
NASCAR, and many of it’s partners, will take the opportunity of Earth Day to not only reinforce the green initiatives they have taken over the past several years, but to also remind fans of how they can do their part. The most obvious display of the weekend will be the backstretch of Kansas Speedway, which will be painted green to give thanks, and remind everyone of the impact American Ethanol has had on the sport in recent years.
The green won’t stop there, however, as Ms.Sprint Cup will be wearing a green fire suit. The pace car will be a Toyota Camry Hybrid carrying a NASCAR Green Logo on it’s trunk lid, and NASCAR partners Coca-Cola and Coors Light will be promoting the recycling of cans and bottles throughout the weekend.
