All right, race fans. Now is your chance.
For eight years, I have heard nothing from race fans other than NASCAR needs to return to Rockingham.
Well, folks, now they are, and it’s your turn to do the same.
On April 15, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will be at the venerable 1-mile oval located not too far from where you are, and you should be in a seat to watch it.
Speedway President Andy Hillenburg (and his family) and director of operations Robert Ingraham have done (and are still doing) a fantastic job to get the place ready to host big time racing again.
The track is now equipped with Steel and Foam Energy Reduction (SAFER) barriers (a nearly $1 million capital investment), a revamped victory lane situated in the grass along the front stretch so that fans can better see the celebration, and a myriad of other improvements.
